
How to make biryani?
Biryani is a popular South Asian dish that typically consists of rice, spices, meat (chicken, beef, lamb, or goat), and vegetables. Here is a simple recipe for making chicken biryani:
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 2 onions, sliced
- 4 tomatoes, diced
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 2 tbsp biryani masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large pot, heat the ghee and fry the sliced onions until they are golden brown.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute until fragrant.
- Add the diced tomatoes, biryani masala, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
- Wash the rice and add it to the pot, along with 2 cups of water. Stir to mix.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.
- Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
- Stir in the lemon juice and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious biryani!
