How to make biryani?

Biryani is a popular South Asian dish that typically consists of rice, spices, meat (chicken, beef, lamb, or goat), and vegetables. Here is a simple recipe for making chicken biryani:

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 4 tomatoes, diced
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp biryani masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, heat the ghee and fry the sliced onions until they are golden brown.
  2. Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, biryani masala, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  4. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  5. Wash the rice and add it to the pot, along with 2 cups of water. Stir to mix.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.
  7. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
  8. Stir in the lemon juice and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious biryani!
